Astana in Kazachstan staat ineens vol wiet

Foutje van stonede gemeentewerkers of een doelbewuste guerrilla growing-actie van gefrustreerde cannabisliefhebbers? Hoe dan ook, ineens blijkt er dit voorjaar een wel heel aparte begroeiing op te duiken in Kazachstan’s hoofdstad Astana!

Nietsvermoedend en op zijn dooie akkertje liep Mihail Malorod over het kruispunt tussen Auezova-straat en Dzhangeldina-straat in zijn geliefde Astana. Maar dit voorjaar stonden er toch wel heel andere planten dan normaal, met een bepaald niet onprettig aroma, zo viel het Mihail op. En verdomd, als we daar niet onze favoriet aller tijden herkennen in Kazachstan?!

Het stadsbestuur gaat de zaak onderzoeken – is het echt wiet mensen? – en zal de planten direct vernietigen mochten ze illegaal zijn… Nou ja, oordeel zelf maar:

"nnOthers have suggested renaming the street Marijuana boulevard.nn Marat Asymbaev joked:" 'What if that was the idea of police? What if they want to catch all junkies in our city."nnAn investigation has been launched by the council who are quizzing officials at Zelenstroy the urban gardening service who are responsible for the flowerbeds in the city centre.nnA spokesman said:" An investigation has been launched. If they are marijuana plants we will remove them immediately."nn(ends)
